Butler County Democratic Party Endorses Candidates

Party also endorses State Issue 1 and supports March for Our Lives

(HAMILTON-) The Butler County Democratic Party’s Executive Committee last Thursday unanimously endorsed all Democratic candidates running in uncontested primaries both at the State and local level.  In a separate vote, the Butler County Democratic Party’s Executive Committee endorsed State Issue 1- a state constitutional amendment to discourage partisan drawing of Ohio’s congressional districts and require bipartisan support to enact such districts.

“Across the nation, voters are turning to the Democratic Party to bring change in areas the Republican Party has long taken for granted and we expect to see a similar turn here in Butler County after decades of the Republican Party’s broken promises and partisan rhetoric.  In every corner of the county, our Democratic candidates are fighting for those who believe if you work hard, you deserve to get ahead,” said BCDP Communications Director Brian Hester.  “We are the only party on record supporting reforms that make sure voters get to choose who represents them in Congress instead of letting well-funded politicians choose which voters they claim to represent instead.”

In addition to these endorsements, the Butler County Democratic Party passed a resolution in support of the March for Our Lives, a national call for bipartisan leadership and common sense solutions to combat American’s gun violence.  The resolution notes the party stands “unified in the demand that all students have their peace and safety secured and their lives protected from gun violence while they are in school.”  There are planned March for Our Lives events planned in Lebanon, Cincinnati and Dayton for March 24th.  You can learn more details about each of these events at the March for Our Lives website.
