2025: The Year We Showed Up and Won

As we head toward the end of 2025, it’s worth taking a moment to look at what this team accomplished together.

Not pundits. Not consultants. People.

Neighbors knocking doors. Volunteers making calls. Candidates stepping up. Voters choosing something better for their communities.

By the Numbers

  • 21 of 29 known Democrats won

  • 15 of 20 preferred candidates elected — 75%

  • All 9 Democratic incumbents protected

  • All 12 Democratic-held seats maintained

  • 7 Democratic pickups

  • 1 major flip in West Chester Township: Denise Ortiz defeated Mark Welch

  • Nearly 50% growth in turnout compared to 2021

Those numbers didn’t happen by accident.

They happened because our volunteers committed to doing the work. Because regional teams built real relationships in their neighborhoods. Because candidates ran disciplined, community-focused campaigns. Because we talked about schools, roads, public safety, fiscal responsibility, and local leadership instead of cable news noise.

We protected every single Democratic incumbent. We held every Democratic seat. And we expanded the map in communities where people said it couldn’t be done.

The West Chester flip was a headline moment. But the real story was quieter and more powerful: sustained organizing.

For months, volunteers showed up. They knocked doors in the heat. They made calls after work. They hosted meet-and-greets. They staffed fairs and festivals. They talked to neighbors they’d never met before.

That’s what growth looks like.

A nearly 50% increase in turnout over 2021 doesn’t just reflect enthusiasm. It reflects trust. It reflects conversations. It reflects a team that understands that lasting change in a county like ours comes from consistency, not shortcuts.

And here’s the best part: we’re just getting started.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, this is your invitation. The wins of 2025 were built by ordinary people who decided to give a few hours a week to something bigger than themselves.

  • Join a regional team.

  • Knock doors with us.

  • Help register voters.

  • Support a candidate.

  • Bring a friend.

Momentum is not magic. It’s built.

And in 2025, Butler County Democrats proved that when we organize, when we focus on

local issues, and when we lead with respect, we can win.

Let’s keep building together. Join us.
